Welcome to our third annual festival based in Lehigh Valley Pennsylvania.
What makes our festival one of a kind is the primary focus on local talent. All local short films (under 20 minutes) must be submitted by a filmmaker who lives or has filmed within 50 miles of The Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania. They must have been created within the last five years.
Route 22 Filmworks is a collaborative film production group located in the Lehigh Valley, PA, meeting monthly to review current and upcoming projects, network and share a passion for all things filmmaking. The group began in 2017 with three co-founders and has grown to include over 600 members. Our short independent films can be viewed on YouTube and other area film festivals, as well as our Facebook page. If you always wanted to be part of the film industry or just have an interest in film and live in or near the Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania, this is the place to be!

“Magical First Amendment” – Directed by Niya Torres. Middle School Student Niya Torres explains the importance of the First Amendment in a way she and her peers can truly understand. (Runtime: 0:30)
“Hivemind” – Directed by Joey Tangradi. A girl explores a strange game after her friends mysteriously stop talking to her. (Runtime: 3:16)
“Ubiquitous” – Directed by Grace Drury. An up-and-coming filmmaker, suffering from Borderline Personality Disorder, spirals into obsession in order to win best picture. (Runtime: 19:37)
“DEADBOLT” – Directed by Andy Wilczak. (Runtime: 8:45)
“Uphill Battle” – Directed by Ethan Hillel Baron. A motivational short film by Ultraviolet Studios about a university student who confides in his friend about his decision to quit university due to stressful circumstances. (Runtime: 6:49)
“Outlaw” – Directed by Louise Devery. Woman driver is mistakenly accused. (Runtime: 6:31)
“Developing a Secret” – Directed by Shiliang Gao. A Uber driver accidentally picks up a passenger’s backpack. While exploring the intrigue of the film camera in the backpack, he discovers a picture of the passenger with his dying daughter and he is transformed throughout the process. (Runtime: 5:53)
“The Checkers of Chess” – Directed by Rainelle Wright. A man struggles with the good and evil within him to win a chess match. (Runtime: 3:20)
“Apocalypse Monday” – Directed by Ben Wenger. Just another Monday morning: Coffee, exhaustion, and the apocalypse. (Runtime: 3:50)
“The Civil Civic Chronicles” – Directed by Neha Yalamanchi. High Schooler Neha Yalamanchi uses animation to explain the importance of civil civic conversation. (Runtime: 0:59)
“The Forgotten” – Directed by Gaetano Iacono. A film that brings to light the forgotten people that parished in the 9/11 attacks. (Runtime: 10:26)

“Superhero Spam” – Directed by Gaston Foster. A spam pop-up on a phone gives a person the abilities of the heroes we love from the comics. (Runtime: 3:20)
“You Stole my Boyfriend” – Directed by Jeffrey Harvey. Two best friends match with the same guy on a dating app. What could go wrong? (Runtime: 4:57)
“Cupcake” – Directed by Natalie Mahoney. Once Upon a Time at the 21st birthday party of the pompous birthday princess Julianna, an enthusiastic young girl named Delani is sent off to pick up cupcakes for the party. While out on her journey to get the cupcakes, she brings back something sinister along with her. (Runtime: 4:50)

“Who’s Crazy Now?” – Directed by Samantha R. Kennedy. A young waitress uncovers a series of unsettling events around her, leading to a gut-wrenching confrontation with her best friend, who reveals a dangerous obsession that threatens to unravel their friendship and expose dark secrets from her past, forcing them into a chilling debate over who is truly losing their mind. “Banana Tree” – Directed by Sarah Bui. Ann is a divorced woman diagnosed with brain cancer who has a difficult time deciding whether or not to proceed with treatments. (Runtime: 15:56)

“Jane’s Carousel” – Directed by Lauren Burnfield. When a college student in NYC travels to Brooklyn for an afternoon she meets a young woman who inspires her to rethink her approach to life and love and sparks fly. But the college student reluctantly finds herself falling for the young woman and she struggles to decide whether or not she is ready to commit to something more. (Runtime: 3:41)
“Fallout” – Directed by Desiree Zielinski. A group of close friends shelter in place from an impending nuclear attack. As the world seemingly falls apart outside with one of their friends in the thick of it, the truth comes out in the end with the damage already done. (Runtime: 8:30)
“Widow’s Walk” – Directed by Blaise Cauvin. When a lonely man struggling to navigate life encounters a ghostly woman in an abandoned house, she begins communicating with him through his dreams, causing the boundaries of reality to blur in haunting and unexpected ways. Consumed by the need to uncover the truth about her past, he teeters on the edge of madness. (Runtime: 21:59)

“Terra Luma” – Directed by Scott Lentz. Annie is the lone inhabitant of a lunar research facility with nobody to talk to but the AI robot programmed to monitor her health and annoy her. “Behind the Signal: The Making of Blood Signal 4G” – Directed by Jason Taylor. A behind the scenes look at the making of the fourth film in the groundbreaking Blood Signal franchise, in which the filmmakers attempt to once again break new ground in the horror genre. (Runtime: 7:07)
“Remembrance” – Directed by Aidan McKee and Colin Lawville. After a tragic death, four friends argue over who’s at fault, while the victim’s best friend tries to cope with the loss. (Runtime: 18:06)
“Down the Hill” – Directed by Zack Wilcox. Detective Marty Flynn has a secret: his childhood teddy bear tells him where to find dead bodies. It’s an eerie gift that’s made him an unusually successful cop. (Runtime: 12:21)

“One Night” – Directed by Ryan William Tocci. Friends gather around a table for what seems like a usual hangout, but when conversation turns towards visitors from another planet the boundaries of trust and loyalty prove to be tenuous and breakable. (Runtime: 8:20)
“The Resonance” – Directed by Sashia Dumont and Paul Robinson. When respected psychologist Sloan Campbell inherits her predecessors last known session tapes before his untimely demise, she discovers a dark and unsettling pattern. As she delves deeper into the center of his final case, a sinister force threatens to blur the line between modern medicine and religion.
